Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their continued acts of state terrorism martyred 10 Kashmiris including a woman during the last month of May.
According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, of those martyred four youth were killed in fake encounters or in custody. Indian police and paramilitary personnel during house raids and cordon and search operations arrested 2,141 people including APHC women leaders Zamruda Habib and Yasmeen Raja.
Indian troops during a cordon and search operation martyred a civilian in Mangu Chak area of Samba district, today. The troops also arrested two youth in Kreeri area of Baramulla district. India’s brutal State Investigation Agency conducted raids at nine locations in Pulwama, Shopian and Islamabad districts. The SIA sleuths carried out searches in Litter, Shirmal, Kachwa, Chittergul, Semthan, Shangus, Uterosoo and other areas of the three South Kashmir districts.
Meanwhile, APHC Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the increase in random arrests, raids and confiscation of properties in the occupied territory. He said India is using its investigation agencies and judiciary to victimize the Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership including Muhammad Yasin Malik.
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a statement denounced the summons to elderly APHC leader Muhammad Abdullah Tari for appearance before a court in Srinagar in a false case. The statement termed the move an attempt to harass the aged leader for his commitment to the freedom cause.
Protest demonstrations were held in Srinagar and Poonch districts against the anti-people policies of the occupation regime. People took to the streets in Batamaloo area of Srinagar against the fleecing of the Kashmiris in the name of the installation of smart meters. Activists of many political and social organizations staged a strong protest demonstration at Saiklu in Mandi area of Poonch district against issuance of licence to open liquor shops in the district. The protesters said New Delhi is making deliberate attempts to make the Kashmir youth morally corrupt.
On the other hand, the Modi government has allotted 1,99,550 more houses built on the Kashmiris’ land to non-Kashmiri residents with the ulterior motive of upsetting the Muslim majority status of Jammu and Kashmir on a fast track. KMS
