• IIOJK to observe shutdown on Monday against holding of G20 meeting
• Indian troops martyr two innocent Kashmiri youth in Poonch

Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed on Monday to register protest against the holding of G20 meeting in Srinagar by Narendra Modi-led Indian government.

According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by other Hurriyat leaders and organizations. The APHC has also appealed to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmiris living across the world to hold protest demonstrations on the day against the illegal move of the Modi regime. The APHC leadership has said that by holding the G20 event in Srinagar the Modi regime wants to mislead the world community about the grave human rights situation and cover up its crimes in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, the Modi government has turned IIOJK into a military fortress by deploying thousands of Indian troops across the occupied territory, particularly in Srinagar, ahead of the G20 meeting being held from May 22-24. Heavy deployment of elite National Security Guard and marine commandos has been made in addition to Indian Army, police, and paramilitary personnel around a convention centre on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar, the venue of the meeting. Indian troops have stepped up house raids and cordon and search operations to terrorize the people. In the ongoing massive crackdown, over 2000 Hurriyat activists and innocent people have been arrested by Indian Army, police and paramilitary personnel in the last three weeks. Indian police also summoned shopkeepers of Srinagar mostly from Lal Chowk, Residency Road, Budshaw Chowk, Maisuma and nearby areas and directed them to open their shops on Monday and Tuesday at 9 AM and warned them of dire consequences in case they did not obey the order.

On the other hand, Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth during their continued cordon and search operations in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu region. Indian Army arrested four innocent Kashmiri youth at Muthi flyover in Akhnoor area of Jammu region for making video of an Army convoy.

A special court of India’s dreaded National Investigating Agency in Srinagar has framed charges against illegally detained senior APHC leader, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, in a false case registered against him.

The APHC Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, in a statement in Srinagar paid rich tribute to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and the martyrs of Hawal on the eve of their martyrdom anniversaries.
