APHC urges G20 Countries to Reject meeting in IIOJK

1. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called upon the G-20 countries to flatly refuse to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to the forum’s meeting in the UN-acknowledged disputed territory of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

2. The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said India plans to host the G-20 meeting in Srinagar to mislead the world about the ground situation in the occupied territory. Besides, he added, the event is aimed at deflecting the world’s attention from the urgency to address the Kashmir dispute, which has put the peace of entire South Asian in jeopardy due to India’s inhuman actions in Jammu and Kashmir. Also, the spokesman said, by organizing the forum’s meeting in Srinagar, New Delhi wants to get legitimacy for its 5 August 2019 illegal actions. He said, as per the UN Security Council resolutions, India is an illegal occupier in Jammu and Kashmir and participating in the event will not only undermine the G-20’s credibility, but its leaders will also be seen as siding with the oppressor, India.

3. New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency continued raids at multiple locations in central, north and south parts of the Kashmir Valley, today. The sleuths of the dreaded agency with the assistance of Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force carried out raids in Baramulla, Islamabad, Pulwama, Budgam and Sopore areas.

4. The Srinagar-Jammu highway has, once again, been closed for vehicular traffic due to landslides. The highway that is the only surface link of the landlocked Kashmir valley with the rest of the world was closed on the stretches between Ramban and Banihal on Tuesday.

5. In Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, representative bodies of Leh and Kargil districts have announced to continue their agitation till they achieve their rights from the Modi-led Indian regime.
