IIOJK’s post 2019 situation escalates tension in South Asia
UN urged to intervene to save Kashmiris from extinction

Srinagar, December 27 (KMS): All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have said that India’s unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019 in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have escalated tension in South Asia.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders including Mir Muhammad Iqbal, Firdous Ahmad Shah and Ghulam Nabi Waseem in their statements in Srinagar said, RSS-backed Modi regime is misleading world by painting a false picture of normalcy in the occupied territory. Instead, they said, India has intensified its efforts to colonize Kashmir after abrogation of its special status. They, however, maintained that India will not succeed to suppress the Kashmiris’ spirit for freedom through brutal means.

Meanwhile, the Indian police, continuing its anti-Muslim policies, confiscated 118 bovine animals and eight vehicles owned by Jammu-based Muslim traders in Ramban district on baseless charges. These vehicles were on way from Jammu to Srinagar. Eight cases were registered against the traders in different police stations of Jammu.

A large number of rural health workers held strong a protest demonstration outside Press Club in Jammu against the occupation authorities for harming their interests badly. The protestors with banners and placards in their hands raised slogans in support of their demands.

Hindutva goons attacked Kashmiri students including a PhD scholar at Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh. The PhD scholar Jibraan told the media that the goons thrashed and manhandled the students and called them ‘terrorists’.

In Istanbul, Chairman of World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Dr Ghulam N Mir, addressing a seminar appealed to the United Nations, Human Rights Council, Amnesty International and other international organizations to intervene to save the Kashmiris from extinction at the hands of Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian regime. The seminar was organized by Dr Halil Toker, Professor and Head of Urdu Language and Literature Chair at Istanbul University. Dr Halil Toker, who is author of more than two dozen books, including “Kashmir File: A Book on History of Kashmir” also threw light on the history of the Kashmir dispute. KMS
