Modi regime using Agencies to Intimidate Kashmiris into Submission
Jammu, June 03 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people staged a massive protest demonstration in Rajouri district of Jammu region against the killing of a college student by a vehicle of Indian Border Security Force.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth, Muhamad Saqib Malik, was critically injured after his motorcycle was deliberately hit by a BSF vehicle in Kallar area of the district. He was shifted to the Government Medical College Rajouri where succumbed to his injuries.
Later, the family members, relatives and villagers with the body of the deceased assembled at Kallar Chowk and blocked the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway for hours. They demanded strict punishment to the driver of the BSF vehicle. The protesters said that the accident happened due to negligence of the BSF driver and no BSF official bothered to meet the family of the deceased even to console the loss of their son.
Meanwhile, political experts and Kashmir watchers in their interviews in Srinagar said the Narendra Modi-led Indian government is using its dreaded agencies National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency as a weapon to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement and intimidate them into submission. They maintained the sleuths of these agencies frequently search the homes of Hurriyat leaders, human rights activists and journalists and subject the inmates to severe harassment. They added that all these actions are aimed at intimidating those who refuse to toe the Bharatiya Janata Party’s line in the occupied territory.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, in a statement issued in Jammu deplored that India has turned occupied Jammu and Kashmir into the world’s largest open-air prison by deploying more than one million army and paramilitary personnel in the territory.
Illegally detained APHC leader, Noor Muhammad Fayyaz, in a message from Naini Central Jail in Uttar Pradesh, said India is punishing the Kashmiris for demanding their birthright to self-determination.
On the other hand, a Kashmiri student was found dead at a college hostel in Kolkatta, the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. The student, Muhammad Umar Ganai, from Khansahab area of Badgam district, was studying engineering at the Budge Budge Institute of Technology. KMS
