Two youths martyred by Indian troops in Kulgam

Srinagar, September 28 (KMS): Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the youths were martyred during a cordon and search operation launched by personnel of Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group in the Adigam area. The troops also destroyed a residential house using a chemical substance. Earlier, an Assistant Superintendent of Indian police and four troops were injured in an attack in the same area.

Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel have intensified their extensive house raids and cordon and search operations across various locations in the Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts of Jammu region, as well as in multiple areas in the Kashmir valley. During one such operation in the Awantipora area of Pulwama, troops arrested six youths. Local residents speaking to the media voiced their concerns over the frequency of these military operations, stating that they not only disrupt daily life but also exacerbate the atmosphere of fear and insecurity.

On the other hand, incarcerated Chairman of APHC, Masarrat Alam Butt, along with detained senior Hurriyat leaders Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, in their messages from the notorious Tihar Jail in Delhi, praised Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the UN General Assembly, describing it as a true reflection of Kashmiri sentiments. They acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent efforts to raise the Kashmir issue on international platforms and push for a swift resolution. The jailed leaders remarked that Pakistan’s unwavering support has always been a source of encouragement for Kashmiris fighting for justice and self-determination. However, they highlighted that India’s intransigence remains the primary obstacle to a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute and called on the international community to pressure New Delhi for a fair and just resolution to the conflict.

Additionally, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah speaking at a rally criticized the BJP-led Indian government for depriving Kashmiris of their rights. He emphasized that before August 5, 2019, the local population had exclusive rights to jobs, land, forests, rivers, and other resources in IIOJK, but now outsiders are prioritized over Kashmiris. He directly attributed this shift to the policies of the BJP, calling for a restoration of local rights and opportunities. KMS
