The killings rendered 3 women widowed and 4 children orphaned. During the period, 15 youth were critically injured in the use of brute force by Indian Army, police and paramilitary personnel. Indian troops during house raids arrested 137 civilians, mostly political activists, and most of them were booked under black laws like Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Public Safety Act.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar maintained that the Kashmiri people will not surrender before the Indian state terrorism and will continue their ongoing freedom struggle till it reaches its logical conclusion.

Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti talking to reporters in Srinagar said that the so-called anti-encroachment drive launched in Jammu and Kashmir is a new weapon for the BJP’s Hindutva government to persecute the Kashmiri people and uproot them from their homes.

Meanwhile, forceful protest demonstrations were held in different areas of the occupied territory against the anti-people policies including the eviction of Kashmiris from their lands and properties. Hundreds of people carrying placards reading ‘stand up for your rights, ‘we want justice’ and ‘it is time to wake up’ gathered in Magam area of Badgam and demanded an immediate rollback of the brutal order. All Jammu-based reserved category employees posted in the Kashmir Valley also held a protest demonstration along with their families outside Governor House in Jammu city. They raised slogans against BJP and its proxies in the occupied territory.
