India using Torture as a tool against Kashmiris

Srinagar, June 26 (KMS): India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency, today, conducted raids at multiple locations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the NIA sleuths along with the personnel of paramilitary and police barged into houses in Bandipora, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts of the Valley and harassed the inmates. The raids were particularly conducted on the houses of the people supporting the Kashmiris’ righteous demand for right to self-determination.

Seething with anger, people in Zadoora area of Pulwama district continued their protests against the Indian soldiers, associated with Indian Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles, barging into the Zadoora Jamia Masjid and forcing the worshipers to chant “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Maata Ki Jai” slogans over loudspeakers. Lately reported, the incident took place during Fajr prayers on Saturday. The locals said the army also vandalised the Jamia Masjid, the largest in the south Kashmir village. The incident triggered strong anti-India protests in the area.

Complete shutdown was also observed in Kargil district of Ladakh region against the backing of a rape accused by the administration. Separately, people carrying table fans and empty buckets took to streets at many places in Udhampur and Samba districts of Jammu region to lodge their protest against the authorities over long power cuts.

APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt in a statement released in Srinagar termed the Biden-Modi joint statement as “seriously misleading”. Masarrat Butt who is languishing in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, deplored that the joint communique had no mention of Indian state terrorism, arrests of thousands innocent Kashmiris and blatant desecration of religious places by the occupation troops.

Meanwhile, a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, today, said that India was using physical, mental and psychological torture at a large scale to stifle Kashmiris’ voice for self-determination in the occupied territory. It revealed that the troops during their unabated acts of state terrorism martyred 96,211 Kashmiris including 7,297 in custody and fake encounters since January 1989 till date.

APHC-AJK arranged a seminar in Islamabad in connection with the the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture wherein speakers said that India was using violence against innocent Kashmiris as a state policy. KMS
