India using State machinery to Oppress IIOJK people: Hurriyat leaders
Srinagar, June 12 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have converted the entire territory, with South Kashmir bearing the brunt, into a military garrison weeks ahead of the annual Amarnath yatra, causing huge inconvenience to the locals.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian paramilitary personnel equipped with high-tech gadgets are seen patrolling roads while vehicles and passengers are subjected to vigorous checking. India has approved 300 additional paramilitary companies for deployment in the territory, already the highest militarized zone in the world. Scores of bullet-proof police vehicles and bunkers have been installed in the name of security for Hindu pilgrims.
Political observers who are witnessing the situation say that the Hindutva groups want to expand the yatra as a means of showing maximum Hindu presence in the otherwise Muslim majority Valley.
Meanwhile, pursuing the Israeli model of dislodging the Palestinians from their lands and properties, India continues to confiscate the Kashmiris’ lands and properties. In the latest case, India’s notorious National Investigation Agency attached three immovable properties of Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Watali in Kupwara district, today. Earlier, on May 31, the NIA had also attached Watali’s house in Srinagar.
APHC leaders Davinder Singh Behl, Narender Singh Khalsa, Mir Shahid Saleem and Muhammad Aaqib in their separate statements issued in Jammu said that Narendra Modi and his government are suppressing Kashmiris with the use of cruel state apparatus. They said that massive house raids and siege and search operations by Indian forces cannot stop the Kashmiris from demanding their promised right to self-determination.
Three persons were injured in firing by unknown attackers near Rangoor Adda in PS Ramgarh area of Jammu district.
On the other hand, people including women staged a protest against the Modi government for fleecing them on one pretext or another in the Bemina area of Srinagar, today. Residents of Dangri, today, blocked Jammu-Poonch Highway against the growing law and order situation in Rajouri district.
