Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government continuing with its colonial policies to punish the pro-freedom people and organizations for their affiliation with and role in the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement has sealed civilian property worth Rs 40 millions in Kupwara district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the regime has mobilized its dreaded oppressive machinery including the State Investigation Agency to dislodge the Kashmiris from their properties. The sealed property includes a shopping complex comprising 20 shops along with appurtenant land in Kupwara town and all it belongs to the Jamaat-e-Islami of the occupied territory. With this, the Delhi regime has, so far, sealed 57 properties belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami alone. Pertinently, the State Investigation Agency is planning to seal 188 more Jamaat properties across occupied territory. The occupation authorities have already confiscated the Headquarters of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Srinagar and razed to ground the houses and shops of many Hurriyat leaders and activists across the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, incarcerated senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a message from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail denounced raids, cordon and search operations, arrests, seizure of properties and other brutalities, saying New Delhi is using these brutal measures to silence the legitimate political voices for freedom. Besides, he said, Hurriyat leaders and activists are being put behind bars for their political beliefs, with top leadership being implicated in false cases. He cited the plea filed by India’s National Investigation Agency in Delhi High Court seeking conversion of Muhammad Yasin Malik’s life imprisonment into a death penalty as the latest example of the Modi regime’s sinister designs to discredit the Hurriyat leadership.
APHC leader, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, in a statement in Srinagar called upon the international community to prevent the killing of innocent Kashmiris and confiscation of their properties. He expressed serious concern over the life-threatening situation being faced by detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.
National Panthers Party President, Harsh Dev Singh, addressing a press conference in Jammu said that India under Narendra Modi was attempting to usurp Kashmir’s lithium reserves, which exclusively belong to the Kashmiri people. These resources were recently found in Reasi district of Jammu region. Congress leader Uday Bhanu Chib said that Modi regime has miserably failed to address even basic issues of the Kashmiri people.
Fourteen people including a doctor died and several others were injured in different road accidents across territory. KMS
