• Modi regime has enslaved Kashmiris: APHC leaders
• Demand for Lok Sabha debate on army killings in IIOJK

Srinagar, December 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership has said that the fascist Modi regime has deepened the enslavement of Kashmiri people through imposition of brutal laws and regulations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Zamrooda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Dr Musaib and Maulana Sajid Nadvi in their separate statements in Srinagar said that the new anti-Kashmir policies devised by the Hindutva regime are adversely impacting the Kashmiris’ basic political, legal and social rights. They appealed to the United Nations to put pressure on India to stop harassing the Kashmiri people and seizing their properties. The leaders demanded the release of all political prisoners including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Aasiya Andrabi from Indian jails.

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah in a media interview in Srinagar severely criticized the Modi-led BJP regime for using Kashmiri Pandits’ card to project a false sense of normalcy in the territory. He said the Indian government’s tall claims of normalcy have fallen flat in view of the grim situation on ground. It is mere propaganda. The Modi regime is making Kashmiri Pandit employees scapegoats to mislead the international community.

In an attempt to gain control of all religious places in IIOJK, the Indian government through the newly-constituted Waqf Board, headed by a Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has ordered the disbanding of all local committees at Khanqahs and masajid warning that any decision taken by the committees will be punishable.

Indian troops during a cordon and search operation arrested a youth in Chakloo area of Baramulla under draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury while mentioning the Friday’s killing of two civilians by Indian army in Rajouri has demanded a debate in the Lower House of Indian parliament, Lok Sabha on the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Raising the matter as the House took up “issues of urgent public importance”, he said innocent citizens are losing their lives due to the Indian army’s mistakes in the Valley. Adhir Chowdhury criticized the Modi government for not issuing a statement on the killing of two labourers by the Indian army in Rajouri. KMS
